Sweet Spot
Renee and I are very proud to announce that our daughter Zandra Rose Stern was born at home on February 13th at 8:02pm. In a remarkable gift to her mom, Zandra found the sweet-spot between little and big at 6 pounds, 13 ounces, 20 inches long. (Just barely more than three kilograms and half a meter long.) She's right on time, narrowly missing her predicted date of Valentine's Day. (And after all, who'd want to share their day with a saint? It just sets expectations.) Notable physical characteristics include long slender fingers and a voice reminiscent of early PJ Harvey.
Renee is doing wonderfully, tired and recovering, but overjoyed and unharmed by the experience. She and I are both very grateful to be able to realize this birthing vision and to have such a healthy daughter. We give thanks to our birthing team of Maria Iorillo, Sue Baelen, and Kathy Woo.
Warm wishes,
Renee and Zalman
